Giving is What a Mutual Bank is About
Financial integrity and doing good work have been written into out DNA since 1906.
It’s really pretty easy to be an OlyFedder: stay tight with smart financial practices, always be kind and helpful to everybody, and who knows that great rewards the future will give? As a mutual savings bank, OlyFed is beholden only to depositors and borrowers, not corporate shareholders. The OlyFedder’s guiding principle is The Golden Rule.
Community Giving
Each year, OlyFed contributes anywhere from 5% to 15% of its profits to support hundreds of local charities and organizations. Last year that amounted to more than $460,000 in philanthropic support and sponsorships towards the advancement of more than 180 health and human service, arts, education, environmental, housing and youth-focused organizations.
“When it comes to OlyFed, at the core of our mission is a vision to be financial partners that build relationships, celebrate diversity and use our resources to help our communities succeed. We do this by living out our values of doing the right thing.” Sandy DiBernardo, VP / Director of Community Outreach.
Community Financial Education
Providing free access to high-quality personalized financial education classes is just another way we live out our values and invest in the community that invests with us. We provide classes on a variety of topics from budgeting, managing credit and account security to homebuying and construction lending. Our team of bankers have the knowledge, expertise and passion to help you achieve your dreams and goals.
We provide complimentary classes to nonprofits, schools, small businesses, faith-based organizations, service clubs, professional associations and more. We can design a class to meet your needs and to ensure you walk away with the tools, resources and insight to face your financial future with confidence.

Community Programs
Two Cent Campaign
In November of 2018, we launched our Two Cent Campaign which has provided more than $150,000 in support to more than 50 local nonprofit organizations. Every time our customers use their debit card, we donate two cents to a local charity because we give two cents about our community!
Neighbor2Neighbor Fund
In 2023, the Neighbor2Neighbor Fund was established to support the spectrum of affordable housing needs in our community. Every time we close on a new mortgage or construction loan, we donate to three local housing organizations providing emergency shelter, affordable rental homes and homeownership opportunities for low-income individuals and families.
Community Checking
Community Checking
OlyFed’s Community Checking is designed to be an affordable transaction account to meet the needs of individuals who haven’t worked with a traditional financial institution in the past or who are looking to reestablish their credit and economic health and well-being.
Affordable Homebuyer Program
Housing values continue to rise, making affordability a growing challenge for many. To help eliminate barriers and welcome people into homeownership, we created a special affordable home loan program. Potential borrowers with gross earnings at 80% or less of the median household income levels in Thurston and Mason counties are eligible.
