This year’s Economic Forecast marks the 12th anniversary of the region’s five leading economic development agencies collaborating to create the region’s largest conference that focuses on economic vitality and community development as it is today and as it will be tomorrow and beyond!
Congresswoman-elect Strickland is part of the welcome and will address the need for strong leadership to weather this economic crisis. As Mayor of Tacoma, the Congresswoman-elect helped guide Tacoma out of the last economic recession. She will look to do the same for the 10th Congressional District; first, by putting science first and ensuring that we get COVID under control; and second, by working to pass another stimulus package which invests in workers and small businesses and gets cash directly into people’s hands. The Congresswoman-elect will look specifically at harnessing our region’s potential by manufacturing what we need to address COVID – PPE, medical equipment, life-saving drugs – right here in the South Sound.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Bill Conerly, who will forecast the national and local economic outlook during a time of crisis and uncertainty. Breakout sessions will dive deeper into innovations and adaptations taking place within workforce development and the medical industry.
