In celebration of Black History Month, OlyFed employees were joined by Javoen Byrd from The Hawk Foundation for Research and Education on African Culture.
The Hawk Foundation offers unique programming that combines music, historical education and diversity consulting for partners looking to engage in anti-racism and equity work.
They run programs within the local school districts to provide African music education and collaborate on multicultural initiatives.
Our employees learned about the historical use of African drums as a form of communication during the interactive demonstration. We are grateful to Javoen for taking the time to provide our employees with this opportunity. OlyFed is proud to support the work of the Hawk Foundation to educate our local community in cultural competence.
